ITEC to the Rescue.

Our friends at Plevins called us at 3 PM regarding this flanged boss. The Boss had been liberally persuaded off its original mounting shaft as part of a refit program that was underway.

The bore had been deformed to the point that it would not fit on the new shaft and it needed to be brought back to true.

We collected the job, got it back to our workshop and set straight to work. we cleaned up the internal bore, re-dressed the bolt holes and cleaned up the part ready for collection by our client at 8:30 the following morning.

Steve from Perfect Bindery Solutions came to us with this box clamp which had been supplied to him from the united states.

He needed the capacity of the design and the adjustable clamps extending to travel the full length of his tool bed and the imperial threads converting over to metric.

Our expert team sprang into action coming up with a simple but elegant solution that maintained the use of many of the original parts of the design to keep the costs within the client’s budget.

We removed the rack and pinion adjustment mechanism which allowed the jaws to become free moving, providing a much greater range of motion. We also extended the clamps adjustment range with a new mounting shaft and adjustment rails.

The client was on a tight turn around window, but we were able to come up with the design, draw up the parts and produce the completed assembly in 5 days flat.

Needless to say, Steve was very happy with the result.
